Kuter ochrony wybrzeża typu KP-9 1925-1926 (14 szt.)
Aby nie
kłopotać kanonierek i krążowników kolonialnych działaniami w strefie przybrzeżnej,
podjęto decyzję o budowie kutrów ochrony wybrzeża z przeznaczeniem do służby w
naszych posiadłościach zamorskich.
Okręciki
te są powiększoną wersją kutrów typu KP-1
działających w rejonie baz bałtyckich. Uzbrojenie pozostało takie samo, jedynie
działko i nkm zamieniły się miejscami. Identyczna jest również prędkość,
zwiększył się natomiast zasięg i poprawiła dzielność morska.
Jednostki
tego typu zostaną przydzielone w liczbie dwóch dla każdej kolonii i będą
wykonywać zadania podobne do swoich „starszych braci”
Jeszcze
zanim pierwszy okręt tego typu wszedł do służby, zainteresowanie ich zakupem
wyraziły marynarki Szwecji, Danii, Litwy i Chin.
