Zbiornikowiec floty typu Roztocze 1943 (2 szt.)
W
związku z - przedwojennymi jeszcze - planami tworzenia zespołów operacyjnych
floty, podjęto decyzję o budowie następnych, większych od poprzednich
zbiornikowców towarzyszących. Ponieważ sytuacja polityczna stawała się coraz
bardziej napięta, aby nie tracić czasu, nie projektowano nowych okrętów od
zera, lecz zaadaptowano gotowy projekt zbiornikowców typu Karpaty (FT-12 1940), wstawiając na śródokręciu sekcję z 4
dodatkowymi zbiornikami.
Użyto
napędu z Karpat, wobec czego, prędkość
maksymalna obniżyła się o 0,24 w, a zasięg o 200 Mm. Również bez zmian
pozostało uzbrojenie; wymieniono jedynie dalocelownik na nowszy model, zwiększono
zapasy amunicji, a także zamontowano nowszy typ radaru.
Zdolność
przewozowa wzrosła do 4 500 t paliw różnego rodzaju (olej opałowy,
napędowy i benzyny). Istnieje również możliwość przewozu surowej ropy.
Zbiornikowiec jest w stanie tankować jednocześnie do 8 okrętów na postoju i do
2 w ruchu.
