Nordycki niszczyciel typu Karl X Gustav 1929 (8 szt.)
Jednostka
ta stanowi w pewnym sensie rozwinięcie niszczyciela typu Gustav Vasa (1925), chociaż nie jest wyłącznie jego powiększonym
następcą. Kolejna seria nordyckich niszczycieli pojawi się około połowy lat
30-tych; będą to okręty jeszcze większe (choć nie nadmiernie) i silniej
uzbrojone.
Nowością w nordyckiej
flocie są zamontowane na niszczycielu zdwojone działa artylerii głównej w dość
obszernych osłonach. Nie są to wprawdzie osłony całkowicie zamknięte (jak na Fubuki), ale i tak stanowią znaczny
postęp w stosunku do skromnych masek.
Przyjmując
za realny odpowiednik Karola
niszczyciel Klas Horn (1932),
skorygowałem moc siłowni i prędkość maksymalną. Umożliwiło to uzyskanie
wiarygodnych parametrów bez niepotrzebnego przeciążania konstrukcji. Okręt ten
jest jedną z bardzo nielicznych moich konstrukcji, w której zastosowano kotłownie
o nierównej mocy. Kotłownia dziobowa mieści dwa kotły po 5000 KM, a rufowa
również dwa po 7000 KM. Powyższe wynika ze znacznej różnicy w szerokości kadłuba
w miejscu lokalizacji przedziałów kotłowych.
Z powodu braku
artylerii głównej w superpozycjach, sylwetka niszczyciela jest stosunkowo niska
i trudna do wykrycia.
