Okręt podwodny typu Lamna 1924-1925 (2 szt.)
Duże,
prawdziwie oceaniczne, silnie uzbrojone, typowo „myśliwskie” okręty podwodne. Stacjonować będą na Pembie, a ich terenem operacyjnym będzie obszar od
południowego Atlantyku po zachodnie wybrzeża Australii i od Zatoki Perskiej po
Antarktydę.
Okręty
posiadają 11 wyrzutni torpedowych (6 na dziobie, 2 na rufie i 1 potrójna
obrotowa na śródokręciu) z zapasem 10 torped. Duża szybkość nawodna i znaczny
zasięg predestynuje je do typowo „krążowniczych” działań.
Jednostki
zostały wyposażone w nowy typ anteny radiostacji pozbawiony całej tej „siatki
drutów” Antena tego typu będzie montowana na wszystkich nowych okrętach, a
także sukcesywnie będzie zastępować anteny starszego typu na jednostkach
będących już w służbie.
Trochę się
obawiam, że dyslokacja tych okrętów na Pembę może wzbudzić ostrzejsze, niż
dotychczas reakcje niektórych mocarstw (Anglia, Niemcy); w końcu OP trudno
uznać za jednostki defensywne lub eskortowe. Myślę, że jakoś sobie z tym
poradzimy.
