Jeszcze
jedna jednostka pomocnicza, tym razem okręt warsztatowy. Jest to poniekąd
wspólne „dzieło” kolegi ŁK, który opracował podstawowe założenia i moje. Okręt
jest stosunkowo duży (takie były założenia kolegi ŁK, ja myślałem o czymś
mniejszym), ale to chyba nie wada. Przeznaczeniem jednostki jest dokonywanie
napraw okrętów w oddaleniu od baz macierzystych. W tym celu warsztatowiec posiada
magazyn konstrukcyjnych materiałów okrętowych i części zamiennych oraz
warsztaty: ślusarsko-kowalsko-spawalniczy, mechaniczny, elektrotechniczny,
rusznikarski, stolarski oraz ciesielsko-szkutniczy. Poza tym za jednostce
zaokrętowana jest niewielka grupa nurków do oględzin części podwodnej kadłuba i
drobnych prac podwodnych. Żurawie o dużym udźwigu pozwalają na przenoszenie na
okręt i z okrętu remontowanych elementów i podzespołów dużej wielkości. Uzbrojenie
– jak na okręt pomocniczy – jest dość silne, ale biorąc pod uwagę jego wielkość
nie przesadne.
Oczywiście
– tak jak w przypadku wszystkich okrętów niebojowych – Springsharp drastycznie
zawyżył odporność okrętu na trafienia; tym razem około trzykrotnie, proszę to
zignorować.
Ponieważ
budżet na ten rok (1920) został już – na szczęście nieznacznie – przekroczony,
prócz poniemieckiego podwodnego stawiacza min, nic się już nowego w tym roku
nie pojawi.
