Okręt podwodny typu Łosoś 1929-1930 (6 szt.)
Dla zastąpienia mocno już zużytych okrętów podwodnych typu Gorbusza (SS-13 1915-16), zbudowano
sześć jednostek prezentowanego typu. Są to małe okręty, przeznaczone do działań
w zasadzie wyłącznie na Bałtyku.
Łososie są
uzbrojone m.in. w 4 zlokalizowane na dziobie wyrzutnie torpedowe z 2 torpedami
zapasowymi. Prędkości – jak na okręcik tej wielkości – są zadowalające, a
zasięg wystarczający dla planowanego obszaru operacyjnego. Warte podkreślenia
są dobre właściwości morskie, co w przypadku OP, szczególnie takich rozmiarów,
nie jest zbyt częste.
Obecnie posiadamy 28 okrętów
podwodnych przeznaczonych wyłącznie lub głównie do działań na Morzu Bałtyckim
(plus dwa podwodne stawiacze min), co wydaje się być ilością wystarczającą.
Wobec tego przez najbliższe lata skupimy się na budowie OP pełnomorskich.
