Pierwsze kutry torpedowe dla niderlandzkiej
MW. Ponieważ – jako prototypy klasy – niezależnie od normalnej służby, użyte
będą do testowania rozwiązań konstrukcyjnych oraz wypracowywania swoistej dla
tej klasy jednostek taktyki, zdecydowano się na krótką, niejako informacyjną serię.
Kutry – jak na II. połowę lat 20-stych
są dość duże, lecz niezbyt mocno dociążone uzbrojeniem. Słabe właściwości
morskie ograniczają ich możliwości operacyjne do akwenów przybrzeżnych, w
dobrych warunkach pogodowych.
Wszystkie jednostki powstały w stoczni
Burgerhout's Machinefabriek en Scheepswerf w Rotterdamie.

wolnej burcie.
Napęd
Trzy wały napędowe. Silniki diesla
DAF; 1x450 KM dla prędkości marszowej i 2x600 KM dla prędkości szczytowej. Na
samym dieslu marszowym okręt osiąga prędkość maksymalną 22,81 w.
