trałowiec z dodatkowymi funkcjami ścigacza OP, holownika i okrętu ratowniczego.
Dla jasności; podstawowym zadaniem okrętu jest trałowanie, pozostałe możliwe
funkcje są drugo- lub trzeciorzędne.
Dla umożliwienia wykonywania swoich
zadań jednostka wyposażona jest m.in. w: zestaw trałów, windę trałową/holowniczą,
armatkę wodną i zestaw wydajnych pomp ssąco-tłoczących.
Uzbrojenie artyleryjskie okrętu jest
adekwatne do jego wielkości i wykonywanych zadań, choć w zakresie plot - jak na
moje „gusta” - stosunkowo skromne. Bardzo silne jest uzbrojenie
przeciwpodwodne. Prędkość umożliwia towarzyszenie zespołom innych okrętów (w
tym bojowych), a duży zasięg częściowo uniezależnia od baz zaopatrzeniowych.
Jednostka posiada bardzo dobrą
dzielność morską i przyzwoitą odporność na trafienia. Jest zdolna do samodzielnego
holowania jednostek o wyporności do ok. 28 000 t.
Z uwagi na wszystkie swoje cechy,
okręt jest pożądanym składnikiem eskorty konwojów, a także zespołów okrętów
bojowych w dalekich rejsach (oczywiście bez udziału w bezpośrednich
starciach!).
