Budowa kolumbijskich eskortowców typu Urgente 1944-1945 (4 jednostki)
Czwarta już seria
kolumbijskich eskortowców. W porównaniu z poprzednikami (typ Valiente), są trochę mniejsze i
wolniejsze, posiadają także dwa działka 37 mm mniej. W zamian, zostały
dodatkowo uzbrojone w miotacze rakietowych bomb głębinowych „Mousetrap” oraz
wyposażone w sonar i radionamiernik wysokiej częstotliwości (HF/DF). To
ostatnie urządzenie pojawia się na kolumbijskich okrętach po raz pierwszy.
Z trzech typów
oceanicznych eskortowców (Obstinado, Valiente i Urgente), mają najlepsze właściwości morskie. „Mousetrap”, sonar i
HF/DF czyni (a przynajmniej powinien czynić) z nich prawdziwych „killerów”
wrogich OP. Czy tak będzie, czas pokaże.
Okręty budują
stocznie Astillero
Baranquilla i Astillero Naval No.2 w Guayaquil – po 2 jednostki. Za wyjątkiem sonaru
i HF/DF, wszystkie dostawy
zapewnia przemysł krajowy.
