Pełnomorskie trałowce przeznaczone do
wykonywania zadań poza akwenami przybrzeżnymi. Zasięg i dzielność morska
umożliwiają im udział w eskorcie konwojów. Okręt może zabierać do 28 min, a po
demontażu torów minowych istnieje możliwość montażu dwu zrzutni bomb głębinowych z zapasem 24
bg. Na stałe, jednostki stacjonować będą w metropolii.
Wszystkie okręty typu zostały
zbudowane w stoczni A.F. Smulders w Schiedam.
