Nasze
pierwsze zbudowane po Wielkiej Wojnie okręty, czyli trałowce typu Pregoła (MSC-7 1919) - skądinąd bardzo
udane - mocno się już jednak zestarzały. Uczestniczyły one intensywnie w
usuwaniu pozostałych po Wojnie pól minowych, czym zasłużyły sobie na duże
uznanie. W celu ich zastąpienia zrealizowano budowę trałowców w tym miejscu prezentowanych.
Nowa
seria „rzek” jest od swoich poprzedników nieznacznie większa, a także
wszechstronniej uzbrojona. Obok typowego wyposażenia trałowego, okręty te mogą
być wyposażone w miny lub opcjonalnie wbg; na bokorysie pokazano opcję
pierwszą, a na rzucie drugą. Jeśli chodzi o uzbrojenie artyleryjskie, to
zastąpiono działo 75 mm stanowiskiem 57 mm (chyba wystarczającym do zwalczania
OP i „drobnoustrojów”) oraz dodano działko plot 25 mm.
Nowe
jednostki górują nad swoimi poprzednikami szybkością, zasięgiem oraz
własnościami morskimi; w dużej mierze jest to efekt ogólnego postępu
technicznego.
Pewnie
kolega H_Babbock będzie się zżymał na przesuniętą w stronę dziobu maszynownię,
ale… jakoś to przeżyję J.
Wszystkie
jednostki tego typu będą bazować na Bałtyku; po dwie w Świnoujściu, Kołobrzegu,
Ustce, Helu, Gdańsku i Piławie.
W
miarę wprowadzania do służby nowych okrętów, stare trałowce typu Pregoła będą sukcesywnie wycofywane. Te,
które będą w najlepszym stanie technicznym postaramy się sprzedać, a pozostałe
czeka – niestety – złomowanie.
