Okręt hydrograficzny typu Pacyfik 1921-1922 (2 szt.)

Zgodnie z wcześniejszą zapowiedzią przedstawiam oceaniczne okręty hydrograficzne. Głównym ich zadaniem są prace badawczo-pomiarowe i kartograficzne, zasadniczym „miejscem pracy” kolonie. Szczególnie niedawno przejęta Pemba wymaga wielu prac w tym zakresie.
Okręty posiadają bardzo dobrą dzielność morską oraz wielki zasięg i związaną z tym wydłużoną autonomiczność. Uzbrojenie jest symboliczne i służy wyłącznie do samoobrony.
Jak to zawsze bywa w przypadku okrętów „niebojowych”, Springsharp wyliczył dla naszej jednostki fantastyczną odporność na trafienia. Proponuję w tym przypadku podzielić te wartości przez 5-5,5 – wtedy staną się bliskie realnym.

Krążownik ciężki typu Gdańsk



Ciężki krążownik typu Gdańsk 1921-1922 (2 szt.)

Oto pierwsze duże okręty bojowe oddane do służby po Wielkiej Wojnie. Są to ciężkie krążowniki, stanowiące niejako etap przejściowy pomiędzy krążownikami pancernymi, a klasycznymi krążownikami okresu międzywojennego. Porównania z realnie istniejącymi okrętami tej klasy i tego okresu będą trudne, jako że praktycznie nikt w tym czasie podobnych jednostek nie budował. Wyjątkiem są tu brytyjskie krążowniki typu Hawkins, do których zresztą parametry (ale nie sylwetki) naszych jednostek są mocno zbliżone.
Krążowniki są zapewne ostatnimi w naszej flocie jednostkami tej klasy, wyposażonymi w pojedyncze działa głównego kalibru. Ponadto charakteryzują się dobrym opancerzeniem i  znaczną prędkością, a także nawet troszkę wyprzedzającym epokę uzbrojeniem przeciwlotniczym. Zasięg nie jest może powalający, ale do zaakceptowania. Okręty posiadają rozdzielone kotłownie i maszynownie, co zwiększa ich „przeżywalność” w przypadku groźnych trafień. Zwraca też uwagę niezła – jak na okręty tej wielkości – ochrona przeciwtorpedowa podwodnej części kadłuba. Uważam, że po drobnych modernizacjach (uzbrojenie plot i wyposażenie radionawigacyjne) jednostki te mogą stanowić wartościowy element floty aż do początku lat 40-tych.
Pewnie znowu będę się musiał tłumaczyć z wysoko położonych opancerzonych stanowisk kierowania ogniem, ale po pierwsze w przypadku okrętu tej wielkości nie powinno to stanowić problemu, a po drugie stanowiska te funkcjonalnie związane są z dalmierzami i dalocelownikami, a tych przecież nie umieszcza się na poziomie pokładu.
Okręty noszą proporczyk kontradmiralski, ponieważ są przewidziane jako okręty flagowe dowódców zespołów krążowników (po 1 typu Gdańsk i po 2 typu Bydgoszcz w każdym zespole).
